Good-bye Summer!

Labor Day traditionally signals the official end of summer. Although I love the upcoming season, the closing of the pool does give me reason to say a sad farewell to summer. It's been a great summer for me.

I spent many quiet times sitting in this chair or one nearby. After work I would enjoy relaxing with a novel. Saturday and Sunday mornings were quiet and luxurious. Floating in the water on hot days with Ashley, Julie, Tammy or Jennifer was especially fun! Since moving to West Des Moines, I have appreciated the pool as a benefit of apartment living. Since I don't need to mow, I have even more time for the pool.

Now I say "good-bye" to summer and look forward to the next season!

Ashley and Mowgli

Ashley and Travis got a new puppy! I decided to spend part of the holiday weekend in Waterloo to visit Ashley and meet Mowgli. Travis is out of town, but we were able to fire up the grill on our own after a full afternoon of gardening and puppy play. Mowgli is a beautiful puppy and so well behaved. He listens most of the time and loves attention and affection.
So if my daughter has a puppy, does that make it my grandpuppy? Some people say that this makes me a grandma. I don't think so, but it could be good practice!

Baseball with the I-Cubs

I love an event. . . festivals, sports, celebrations, music and much more! Dale took this photo at an Iowa Cubs baseball game at Principal Park. The image says well how I enjoy sporting events. . . not on TV, but at the park! Thanks for the photo, Dale!
